This is my connector
When my friends and I were walking home from dinner and this drunk guy started following us. He had some drinks and was saying things while he was following us. He followed us down streets even when we turned. It took about six turns on random streets to lose him. It reminds me of when Louis and his crew in Superman can't get away from the Japanese fighter jets.
This is a picture of some of the damage they took.

There are many connections between Louie's life and mine. Louie is really good at running and so am I. I love running and so does He. He also likes planes. Now I don't want to go to the army but I have loved planes and have been visiting the Boeing HQ. There is one other book that has been about world war 2. I don't know a lot about the book. All i know is that they boys are very dedicated to rowing and they have to go to the army. This connects to me because my dad was an Olympic rower.
I think that Louie made the right decisions and that he has been very lucky and yet very unlucky at the same time. He was very lucky to survive in the raft and to end up at land. Yet he was very unlucky to end up at a Japanese internment camp.
Learing Prompt
Learning prompts
The book unbroken has many insightful things. It shows character and the strength of louie. I learned that if you live in yourself that you can do anything just like louie did in the Olympics. It showed me that I can work hard and do anything. There is so many things that I strive to do but never followthrough.
Once he went to the army he had a lot of determination to do good in the world and help the innocent. I learned that even in times where you can get distracted you still have to stay focused. He accepts his friends even when they do wrong.

I was researcher for my group and found this out about the 1936 Olympics. The 1936 Berlin Olympics were known as the "Nazi Games". Even though television wasn't mainstream and wouldn't be for another 20 years, it was televised to special viewing booths in Berlin Potsdam. The Nazis didn't want Jews or Blacks to participate so many countries boycotted.

Unbroken Blog#1

My favorite quote is “A lifetime of glory is worth a moment of pain”(Hillenbrand 36). I like this quote becaue for sports and running especially it gives a different persepct on running or something that tires you. Another powerful quote is “He felt as if he would faint, but it wasn’t from exertion. It was from the realization of what he was”(Hillenbrand 19). I like this quote because it represents a turning point in Louise life.
The author made some very obvious clues to help predict what will happepn later. First off, the cover says “An Olympian’s journey from Airman to castaway to captive”(Hillenbrand Front Cover). The book is also divided into three parts so we can assume that for each part it is about his journey variation. There are also some quotes that have foreshadowing such as “One day, this information would be very important”(Hillenbrand 63). This is about how the planes and equipment were made of plywood to fool the Japense.
There were many events that created conflict. But there is a major one which is when the Japense attacked Pearl Harbor. This changed everything. Lousie was in the military so he didn’t have any time to run. He was a pilot and at this time the Planes were not safe at all so every time he did his duty there was a great risk of death. This is not a very personal conflict between Louse and another person but more of a massive conflict between his country and another.
I really like Laura Hillenbrand’s writing. It is very descriptive and fast paced. But it really depends on the plot, I really like the plot of Unbroken becaues it is about war and sports. She does have other books like Unbroken(non-ficition fast paced) like Seabiscity a story about a race horse. Im sure it is a great book but I personally do not want to read because that does not perk my interest

Blogger Reading Journal / Literature Circle Questions
The Literature Circle Blog is a place for you to share your thoughts, insights, reactions, and learnings about a book you are reading with others who are reading the same book.
The Blog entries should be at least two paragraphs long. Your entries may tell what you felt when you read a book, and why. They may comment on what you noticed about the author’s style of writing, and why you think he or she wrote that way. You may observe what you liked or didn’t like about a book, and why.
In the course of the book you’re reading, you need to post at least two original entries (from two different categories – see other posts) that include text and page numbers (paraphrase or quote a meaningful passage) and respond at least twice to others’ posts.
